Objectives of Brockley Court

 

  1. Resident’s are provided with Terms and Conditions, and a Resident’s Guide with comprehensive information about what they are entitled to expect and how their needs and expectations will be fulfilled.
  2. Residents will be encouraged to bring their personal effects to individualize their room and will be consulted about any changes in the home’s décor and functioning. 
  3. Residents and / or their relatives and representatives are actively involved with the care team to negotiate and agree a Resident’s Care Plan. Resident’s involvement in Care Planning and risk assessment is encouraged to ensure that they can make choices about every aspect of their lives. This further ensures that the Resident’s self esteem, rights and dignity are preserved. 
  4. Staff are extensively trained to deliver care with sensitivity bearing in mind the rights of the Residents and the principles of best practice, particularly to use a calm and sensitive approach when caring for those with dementia and confusion. They are also trained to deliver care in a safe manner and maintain a safe environment.
  5. Confidentiality of records is maintained and staff and Residents will be made aware of boundaries within which information may be discussed and exchanged. This ensures that the privacy and dignity of the Residents is preserved. 
  6. Safety and security are regularly monitored and maintained through a formal and regular process of Health and Safety Audits and risk assessment.
  7. There are monthly formal quality audits to ensure that the policies and procedures are implemented effectively. This ensures that the Residents receive a high and consistent standard of care and services.
