Resident and their representatives visit the home to view the rooms on offer and residents are given the choice to spend some time at the home before they decide to take up residence. Admission to the home is on the basis of a thorough pre-admission assessment. A suitably qualified staff member will visit you at home or hospital and our services offered only if, according to the assessment, the home is able to meet your needs.
Brockley Court Home cannot care and accommodate for persons who require nursing care that cannot be managed by Community District Nursing Services. Accommodation is provided mainly in single rooms that may be locked if desired, subject to risk assessment.
You are most welcome to bring small items of furniture and/or personal effects complying with Health & Safety requirements. The home has a phone, which can be used by the Residents for incoming calls in the privacy of their own rooms. It can also be used for outgoing calls at a nominal fee. Residents may have their own private line through British Telecom at the going rate. There is an in–house laundry where all personal items are laundered. It is therefore not necessary to bring large amounts of clothing in the first instance. Any minor mending of clothes can be done in the laundry. However, major mending and dry cleaning would have to be charged.
